Why Dr. Jill?

Dr. Jorgensen’s program is designed to provide information, helping to avoid the “breaks, hurts, and pain”.

Dr. Jorgensen’s goals are two-fold: 1st to reduce the costly, avoidable injuries associated with repetitive movements of employees, and 2nd to help the employees enjoy a healthier/happier life both at work and home.

According to the US Bureau of Labor, Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), repetitive strain injuries are the Nations’ most common and costly occupational health problem, affecting hundreds of thousands of American workers and costing more than $20 Billion a year in Workers Compensation.  Repetitive motion, such as grasping tools, typing or scanning items, resulted in the longest absences from work and area among the leading events and exposures.

OSHA estimates that work related musculoskeletal disorders (injuries) in the United Stated account for over 600,000 injuries and illnesses.  These disorders now account for one out of every three dollars spent on Workers Compensation.  As discussed above, it is estimated that employers spend as much as $20 Billion a year in direct costs for musculoskeletal disorders with Workers Compensation but up to 5x that much on indirect costs, such as retraining, rehiring, and replacing.  In addition to these monetary effects, musculoskeletal disorders often impose a substantial personal toll on the effected workers with the tasks of daily living.

The success of Dr. Jorgensen’s program is undoubtedly linked to the employees understanding of “why” Dr. Jorgensen’s information is important and “how” it can impact employees lives each and every day.  Dr. Jorgensen’s approach provides an interactive setting that fosters a thorough understanding of the information as well as immediate, practical application.
